About APOV | About Our Staff | About Our Affiliates

It has come to my attention that our purpose in the field of Autism Spectrum Awareness has been greatly misunderstood. It has been assumed, by many campaigns and committees, that we are a ‘for-profit’ enterprise looking to pad our own pockets in the sale or distribution of our e-zine.

For those who’ve come to this conclusion: I’m deeply sorry that we haven’t made our intentions or purpose clear and I hope that you will accept my apologies, as Editor in Chief, for leading you to the wrong conclusion.

Now, please allow me to state our purposes in the clearest possible manner. We are a non-profit, charitable organization currently in the process of incorporation as such. Our primary corporate directives are as follows:

1) The promotion of public awareness and information regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders

2) The promotion of world community awareness and knowledge of charities, foundations, corporations, groups, and organizations specifically related to Autism Spectrum Disorders.

3) The provision of unbiased news and information regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders.

4) The furthering of cultural development for families and individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders.

Furthermore, it is our policy to never charge or ask for financial recompense for the distribution of information to either the reader or from the associations using our company as a platform to promote their cause or service. We endeavor to be self-supporting through our own fundraising and volunteer efforts. We will never charge a subscription fee to our readers or ad placement fee to our affiliates. Our purpose, as such, is not to create more awareness messages but to promote the messages of awareness efforts, activities, and campaigns already in existence.

Our e-magazine (e-zine), APOV on Autism, is the first and primary platform, of what we hope will be many, in which we have chosen to execute our above stated directives. Through this platform we endeavor not only to provide news and promotional services for awareness activities but also to put people in touch with people. It is our goal in the coming year, 2006, to build a comprehensive online archive system and database Where any given reader can find the contact information on the group or services they seek, from local support groups to diagnostic clinics in their areas as well as around the world. It is also our hope that this database will assist other organizations in locating the information they seek to assist their own operational needs.

On a more personal note: we, the voting membership of Another Point Of View on the Autism Spectrum Inc.; a charitable media services company, believe that it is in everyone’s better interests to work together in furthering the cause of awareness and information regarding the Autism Spectrum. We designed our directives as such that our status as a charitable institution relies on our efforts to assist other organizations and individuals in delivering their messages to the public and to each other.

It is with specific intent that we have created our directives to demand that our best interests are served by serving your best interests. If you are not successful we are not successful.

Thank you very much for your time. If you are still not interested in finding a way that APOV on Autism can assist you or your group we will, of course, respect your decision. For those who would like more information on how we can be of assistance to you or your group please contact us at the bellow email addresses.

Sincerely,
Candes Meisenheimer
