I'd like my soul to be
set free,
my heart to love complete?
my eyes to open wide and
see
the world laid at my feet.
I'd like to feel the summer
breeze
drift by and kiss my cheek?
the morning sun shine
through the trees
and glisten as I peek.
I'd like to fly
towards hopes and dreams,
where darkness never lands?
where
light forever always gleams,
and truth forever stands.
But,
broken souls are hard to mend,
bright lights, an unknown hue?
the darkness is my only friend,
it's all I ever knew.
But, come
the dawn and with it light,
clear skies and no more rain?
I'll
bend the rules with all my might
and glory in the gain.
