Welcome to the
Kid’s Corner!

Welcome to the Kid’s Corner of APOV on Autism! The rest of the magazine is all for adults… BORING! So we decided to build a section just for you!

Have something to say? Sometimes it’s hard being a kid because it often seems that adults aren’t listening. They’re always too busy going about whatever it is that they do to just sit down and listen for a few minutes! Well, here’s your chance to be heard!

Kid’s Corner at APOV is looking for kids to submit articles, games, site links, and anything else you’d like to see in this section. What are your interests? We’d like to hear about them.

All you have to do is get a parent or teacher to email your ideas in to us. Yes, its sad but its true, you have to get an adult to help you with that part, especially if you’re under 13.

Another sad but true fact is that if you send in a story you wrote, or opinion article, we can’t print your name with it! Sorry, but it’s for your own safety. You WILL, however, get a really cool nickname; we’ll even let you pick it out!

So, gather up your thoughts and send them in! Oh, and just to be fair, the editor of this section will go by a nickname too! We call her the 4-Eyed-Pup!

To contact her please send you emails to: 4-Eyed-Pup

I Am by Caiti

I am a girl that is determined to win first place.

I wonder if that could really happen.

I hear nothing: it is too imaginary and beautiful.

I see other racers too foolish to win.

I want to do my best on the track.

I am a girl that is determined to win first place.

I pretend that I am on the track sweating.

I feel the reins held in my hands.

I touch the beautiful gold trophy.

I worry if a snobbish person wins that trophy.

I cry when I don’t win.

I am a girl determined to win first place.

I understand when my horse is tired after the race.

I say that I will win the trophy.

I dream myself racing against the foolish racers.

I try my best to win.

I am a girl determined to win first place.

~Caiti, an 11yo with autism.
